Williams Lea Tag

Williams Lea Tag had a burst sprinkler main that caused a large crater to appear. Luckily, Defluo’s drainage engineers removed and repaired the widespread debris and surface damage. We exposed the sprinkler main sub-base beneath the tank slab and found out that it had compromised the integrity of the tank slab itself. So, we conducted a full structural assessment of the slab and our heating engineers completed a trace heating to repair the pipe affected. Then this pipe was encased for protection and the crater was backfilled and appropriately compacted.

The Problem

  • Burst sprinkler main caused large crater
  • Widespread debris and surface damage
  • Exposed sprinkler main
  • Sub-base beneath tank slab compromised
  • Integrity of tank slab required confirming

Solution and Recommendations

  • Structural assessment of tank slab completed
  • Trace heating restored to repaired pipe
  • Repaired pipe encased for protection
  • Crater backfilled and appropriately compacted
  • Surface finish and pathway re-instated
  • Area cleaned and returned to previous condition
  • Entire pipe length to be replaced in future cap-ex programme
